Community Embrace

A huge tide of human love and connection arose after the devastation of the floods. This is the place for stories from relief and rescue workers, people who volunteered at shelters, strangers who became friends, and anonymous acts of giving or support.

Do you have a story of community embrace? Did something wonderful happen between you and a New Orleanian evacuee? What were the small and large gestures of loving tenderness or gratitude that sustained you? What have you learned? How have you changed by having people of New Orleans in your city or home?

How have you been embraced by New Orleans, or offered your embrace?
